Last year, I was lucky enough to win Best Comedian in the Washington City Paper #BestOfDC Reader’s Poll. Some might try to pump the brakes and let expectations die down to a manageable level, but I am not among that… some. I ask you once again to feed a hungry ego and VOTE FOR JARED STERN as Best Comedian in DC. And while you’re there, VOTE FOR BETWEEN TWO STERNS as Best Local Podcast. Elections have consequences, and this one will make me happy for a fleeting moment. Won’t that be nice?
I guess I’m only allowed to win these things in years ending in 3, but I am once again, according to the readers of the Washington City Paper, the Best Comedian in DC. I’m of two minds on this. Sure, as a benign narcissist, my ego needs constant feeding, but my brand as an entertainer (and in life, if we’re being honest) is to keep audience expectations limbo champion low, which makes me seem funnier. Oh well. Thank you to everyone who voted. Come see a show and watch me try to live up to this.

It’s 45 minutes of my signature silliness, with new and expanded material, in front of a fun crowd at the Church of Satire in Hanover, PA. I hope you enjoy it and tell your friends that they should enjoy it too. All proceeds from this album are being donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, so you can feel that extra bit of good as well.
It’s been in the works for a while, but I can now announce that I’ve got a new album coming to digital and… vinyl!
You can pre-order the album on iTunes starting March 17th and it comes out on March 24th, my half birthday. It’ll arrive on vinyl around mid April. It’s dedicated to my Dad, who we lost in September, and all proceeds will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Can’t wait for you to give me a spin.

In an effort to reign in my ego, I came in 2nd! Thanks to everyone who voted. There were several heavyweights of the DC scene that also got votes and it’s an honor to be included on this list.

Not sure how it happened, but the Washington City Paper Best Of DC 2020 winners were announced, and I somehow got 2nd Place for Best Performance Artist. In a year when nobody can perform, THAT’S WHEN I SHINE.
Ever since they eliminated my previous winning-ish categories of Best Comedian and Best Twitter Personality, I was never quite sure about trying to take a stab at Best Performance Artist, because good lord does that sound pretentious, but here we are. I wouldn’t dare call my performances “art.” A very still life, maybe.
So, thank you to anyone that had a hand in this. I am undeserving, but my ego always enjoys sipping accolade. Shout out to my fellow runner-up, Christylez Bacon, and the winner, Killa Cal.
